Application: Range Rover 1995-2002 | Discovery 1 & 2 1994-2004
The vehicle you are working on has a coolant leak causing the cylinders to ingest water, or the head gasket has failed to the outside of the engine, or the engine is overheating and displacing coolant from a leak in the combustion chamber. In most cases, the initial diagnosis is “failed head gaskets”.
Head gaskets will not correct the problem if a slipped cylinder sleeve is causing the leak.
So, how do you know? Facing this issue in our own shops, we set out to find the answer. Our “Black Dog” manufacturing division along with input from our own technicians developed a special tool that provides the answer.
This specialty tool identifies the source of any leaks in the block thereby allowing for a 100% accurate diagnosis. You can use the tool to test for leaks with the engine in or out of the vehicle.
